Dr. Sunil Kumar Bisoyi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mining Engineering at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. He is engaged in diverse fields of research in the application of IoT, MEMS-based sensors, and Artificial Intelligence in the mining industry, with a focus on real-time slope health monitoring, blast-induced ground vibration, and sustainable mining practices. Prior to joining IIEST, he held the position of postdoctoral researcher at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, leading projects on mine safety and automation. His interdisciplinary work bridges Mining 4.0 concepts, AI/ML techniques, and digital twin technologies to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in mining operations.
