Chanchal Majumder

About


Prof. Chanchal  Majumder completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Bengal Engineering College (D.U) in 1998. He completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata in 2000. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering Specialization) from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur (presently Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur) in 2011. He has a total of 23 Years of industrial, teaching, and research experience. He published more than 40 technical papers and 3 Book Chapters in various national and international journals. He is a Member of the Institution of Engineers (India). He works on adsorption and arsenic removal using functional carbon nanomaterial. Presently he is working on organic pollutants (dye) removal using a low-cost electrochemical / electrodialysis process. He has expertise in process design and optimization using statistical tools like the design of experiments. He has been granted one Indian patent in water treatment using nonmaterial. He completed several prestigious projects funded by national and international funding agencies such as DSTBT(WB), UGC, DelPHE, UKIERI, PHED(GoWB), etc. He has served as Assistant Engineer in the Water Investigation and Development Directorate, Govt. of West Bengal.  Presently he is serving as the Associate Professor of the Civil Engineering Department at, the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. He has been associated with different academic and administrative bodies since 2015.
