Subhadip Chakraborty

About


Dr. Subhadip Chakraborty is a dedicated researcher and educator in the field of Experimental Biophysics and Bioelectronics. He earned his Ph.D. as a DST INSPIRE Fellow from the Department of Electronic Science, University of Calcutta, under the mentorship of Prof. Sanatan Chattopadhyay and Prof. Anupam Karmakar. Prior to this, he completed his M.Sc. in Physics with a specialization in Electronics from Banaras Hindu University and obtained his undergraduate degree in Physics (Honours) from A.B.N. Seal College, University of North Bengal.

Following his doctoral work, Dr. Chakraborty served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the S.N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, working with Prof. Rajib K. Mitra, extensively investigating spectroscopic features of biomolecules (primarily at the GHz-THz-IR regime). Currently, he is associated with the Centre for Healthcare Science and Technology at IIEST Shibpur, where he actively contributes to interdisciplinary research and teaching.

Dr. Chakraborty’s research focuses on the interface of physics, electronics, and biology, with an emphasis on developing innovative biomedical electronic sensors. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in reputed international journals such as those published by ACS, Elsevier, AIP, Springer, and Wiley-VCH, alongside several conference papers. A frequent contributor and invited speaker at national and international conferences, he also serves as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals.

His involvement in nationally and internationally funded research projects highlights his commitment to creating impactful, socially relevant technologies. In recognition of his outstanding ability to communicate science to broader audiences, Dr. Chakraborty was honored with the prestigious DST AWSAR Award for Scientific Communication.
