I am from district of Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal. After schooling in Medinipur I attended Asutosh College, University of Calcutta with Chemistry Honors. After finishing my M.Sc. from Berhampur University, I moved to Indian Institute of Science Bangalore for my Ph.D. I worked in the area of natural product synthesis under the supervision of Prof.Goverdhan Mehta and was awarded Ph.D. in 2008. Immediately after my Ph.D., I moved to Freie Universiata Berlin, Germany to work with Prof. Hans Reissig as Alexander von Humboldt Post-doctoral fellow. In 2011, I joined the group of Prof. Yujiro Hayashi as post-doctoral fellow in Tokyo University of Science, Japan. Then, I returned to India and joined Kumaun University, Nainital as assistant Professor and later, moved to IIEST Shibpur in October, 2014. My research interest is mainly focused on synthesis of target molecules and new synthetic method development. Apart from academic involvement, I am interested in literature, music, gardening and travelling.
