Dr. Arijit Sinha obtained his undergraduate degree in Production Engineering from Visveswariah Technological University (VTU), Karnataka in 2002 and postgraduate in Materials Engineering from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, Howrah (Presently, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur) in 2005 and earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Bengal Engineering and Science University, Shibpur, Howrah (Presently, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur) in February 2012. He was a recipient of a University medal for securing the highest marks in Master of Technology (Materials Engineering) in 2005. He has been awarded the "IEI Young Engineers Award 2014-2015” by The Institution of Engineers (India) in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering discipline.
He is the Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers (India) and also the life member of the Indian Institute of Metals, Electron Microscope Society of India, and Materials Research Society of India.
He has 60 SCI/Scopus indexed journal papers to his credit along with 11 number of publications in peer-reviewed conference proceedings. He has also authored 04 number of book chapters, all of which have been published by Elsevier.
He has supervised 25 M. Tech dissertations and 01 doctoral fellow and currently 02 M.Tech students and 02 doctoral fellows are working under his guidance.
His primary research interests include Micro-and Nanoindentation, Shape Memory Alloys, Tribology and Composite Materials. He is teaching subjects viz., Advanced Materials Characterization, Metallic Materials, Biomaterials, and Composite Materials.
