Aritra Ganguly

Dr. Aritra Ganguly is currently working as Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at IIEST, Shibpur since February 2019.  Prior to Joining at IIEST, Shibpur (Erstwhile BESU, Shibpur) as Assistant Professor in January 2006, he worked as Scientist/Engineer SC (Group A Gazetted) at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, Department of Space, Government of India and was posted at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. After completion of his Bachelor Degree securing Ist Division with Distinction from Nagpur University, he worked as a Graduate Engineer Apprentice in Metal and Steel Factory Ichapur under Ministry of Defence. He completed his Master Degree from then BESU, Shibpur securing First Class and was fortunate to be awarded the Ganesh Chandra Mitra Memorial Award (Gold Medal) for securing the Ist position in the Entire Faculty of Engineering and Architecture in 2004. Thereafter, he obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with First Class in 2006 from Annamalai University (DDE). He completed his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from BESU, Shibpur (Now IIEST, Shibpur) in 2012. He is a Life Member of International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and Life Associate Member of The Institution of Engineers, India. His broad research area includes Renewable Energy Systems, Greenhouse Technology and Automobiles. He has visited countries like USA, UK and Bangladesh for academic purpose under financial assistance from Government of India.
