    Hospital & CMS

    The institute has a hospital staffed by medical officers and other medical attendants to cater to the needs of the campus inmates. It provides 24 hours of ambulance service. Besides, the hospital has an ID Ward to effectively isolate students suffering from infectious diseases such as chickenpox, mumps, measles, etc. Outdoor treatment is available in two shifts: morning and afternoon except for Saturday afternoons, Sundays, and holidays. Serious cases are generally referred/ transferred either to any city hospital or to the Students' Health Home, Kolkata. The institute has the Universal Membership for the later. The institute has also initiated the Contributory Medical Scheme from September 2015 for the benefit of its employees and their dependents. The medical unit plays a vital role in the smooth running of this medical scheme.

    Dr. Golder is available from Thursday to Saturday and Alternate Wednesday.
    Dr. Pal is available from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday morning.
    OPD Hours: Morning: 7:30 AM – 10 AM & Afternoon: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM
    OPD shall remain closed on Saturday Afternoons, Sundays, and holidays. For CMS bill related issues and/ or their approval, employees and beneficiaries are requested to attend the hospital during OPD hours.

    Contributory Medical Scheme (CMS)

    Introduction


    Contributory Medical Scheme (CMS) is a scheme which provides medical facility as per CGHS rates to the employees of IIEST, Shibpur as per approval of the Board of Governors of the Institute. All faculty members, staff members and pensioners along with their dependents are getting the facility for their medical treatment from the tied-up hospitals. All beneficiaries of the scheme are issued a Health Record Book. This scheme was introduced from 01.09.2015.

    The employees can avail two types of facilities: (i) OPD facility on reimbursement basis and (ii) IPD facility which is cashless.

    There is a small section under one Deputy Registrar along with a Committee which run the scheme.
