Institute Works Division

The Institute Works Division is the single entity responsible for all the infrastructure related activities within the campus. It comes under the supervision of the office of Dean Planning and Development, and is engaged in planning, designing, construction and maintenance of institute assets in the field of built environment and infrastructure development. The division is entrusted with various responsibilities of executing emergent infrastructure related activities within the campus. Besides such activities, the division also carries out miscellaneous works related to electrification, sanitary plumbing, air-conditioning, fire-fighting & detection, lifts, water supply, DG set etc. In order to ensure safety and security aspects of the campus, the caretaker section of the institute operates under the control of the the Institute Works Division.

Before any tender is advertised, the estimate for the same is checked, scrutinized and approved by various institute level committee namely the ‘Estimate Review and Tender Committee (ER&TC)’, ‘Building and Works Committee (B&WC)’, ‘Finance Committee (FC)’ and ‘Board of Governance (BoG)’ depending on the work volume and amount involved. After approval, relevant tenders and bids are displayed on the institute website to facilitate transparency in selection of successful bidders for the projects prior to work execution. The Institute Works Division undertakes the various sanctioned works in their own capacity, or issues work order to CPWD/ WBPWD/PHE Dte, depending on the type and emergent nature of work involved.
