The global outbreak of COVID-19 has affected every part of human lives, including the physical world. The role of environmental factors in shaping viral pandemic spread has also emerged. Thus, an integrated approach is necessary to create sustainable strategies for healthcare and environment management systems to prevent future pandemics. The emergence and implementation of a circular bioeconomy framework to transform health and industrial systems in accordance with the natural environment are assuming critical significance in the post-pandemic economic scenario. These efforts are needed to be complemented with environmental engineering infrastructure systems in an integrated manner comprising the principles of prevention, recovery, separation, treatment, remediation, and optimization. The present webinar will discuss the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on health and the environment, provide an account of different interventions adopted in the Covid-19 period, and evolve recommendations for future management.
