About


Dr. Joydeep Bhowmik joined as a faculty in the Department of Aerospace and Applied mechanics, IIEST Shibpur in 2018. Innovation-driven research and product development are one of his prime areas of interest. System integration, reverse engineering, manufacturing and fabrication techniques along with a skill to imagine and create are his additional credentials. As a teacher, he has actively participated and encouraged students to take up courses in a sportive and innovative approach. As a student, he is always ready to improvise and implement. Making and flying model aircraft, UAVs, ornithopters etc are his hobby as well as a profession. He has achieved success in designing a unique wing design that has been demonstrated to be highly effective for a flapping wing UAV
