Parikshit Kundu

About


Dr. Parikshit Kundu is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Aerospace and Applied Mechanics at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, West Bengal. Before joining IIEST Shibpur, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur.

He received his Ph.D. in Hydrodynamics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur in 2021 and his M.Tech. in Thermal and Fluids Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2013. He also worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Computational Propulsion Laboratory (CPL), IIT Kanpur, prior to joining IIITDM Jabalpur.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Kundu served as an Assistant Professor at KIIT University, Odisha, from 2013 to 2014.

His current research interests include Turbomachinery, Energy Harvesting, CFD, Experimental Fluid Mechanics, Turbine Design, and Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics.

Research Statement


At a time when efforts are still going on in the development of new methods for controlling the boundary layer separation, my work provides a simple yet efficient passive flow control methods to improve the hydrodynamic performance of the hydrofoil. I am interested in working on various flow control methods as it would provide me with an opportunity to further explore and study fluid mechanics applications in detail. I believe that, with my experience and domain knowledge, I can make a significant contribution to the project.

I warmly welcome enthusiastic undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students who are excited to dive into research challenges in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, hydrodynamics and energy research. I also look forward to meaningful collaborations with industry partners and fellow academics.
