Dr. Anuj Budhkar works as an Assistant Professor in Department of Civil Engineering, IIEST Shibpur. His specialization is in the field of Transportation Engineering. In the academic domain, he teaches subjects like Transportation Engineering (theory and laboratory), Surveying, and pavement engineering (elective) to the B. Tech students, Further, he teaches Geometric Design, Road safety, Pavement Engineering, Intelligent Transportation systems, softwares etc. to the M. Tech students.
He is open to research in the field of Traffic flow theory, Geometric Design of Highways, Intelligent Transportation Systems and Naturalistic driving behavior. He believes in diversifying research and expanding expertise in various domains within the specialization. Transportation Engineering is a vast domain, it is almost impossible to solve modern transportation problems without inputs from Electronics and telecommunications, image processing, programming, psychology, etc. Therefore he is keen to work projects with like-minded collaborators, scholars and M. Tech students. His ongoing research is pertaining to drivers' curve perception, effect of bad visibility on traffic, study of driving behavior on merging road sections, air and ferry transport reliability, pedestrian movement in crowded areas, etc.
