Dr. Deep Roy has completed BE in Civil Engineering and ME in Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Following this, he conducted research in experimental hydraulics at the University of Pisa, Italy and obtained Ph.D. in 2021. Subsequently he has served as Temporary Faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department of National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (2 semesters) and Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh (1 semester) before joining IIEST, Shibpur. Since August 2023, he is serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at IIEST, Shibpur. His primary research interests include fluvial hydraulics, sediment transport, hydraulic structures, scour modelling, macroplastic transport and pollution control in rivers and other related areas.
