Dr Pritam Saha is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur. He earned bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and master’s degree and Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering. His research interests involve studying traffic operational and safety analysis, influence of geometric design characteristics on safety, sustainable urban mobility and transport policies, performance of different pavement structures under various environmental and traffic conditions. He has experience working on sponsored research projects as Principal Investigator, industrial consultancy projects, and also, guiding doctoral and master’s theses. He is the member of different professional bodies. Currently, his research is focused on developing indigenous technology for safety assessment, effective transport planning for areas that have grown organically, and sustainable pavement structure. Before joining IIEST, Shibpur in 2013, he spent four years working at the National Institute of Technology Agartala as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and three years working in the transportation infrastructure development industries on planning, designing, and construction of projects.
