Anindita Sengupta

About


Dr. Sengupta did her B. Tech. in 1993, M.Tech.in 1995, and Ph.D. Tech. in 2006 from the Department of Applied Physics, University of Calcutta. After gaining industrial experience of about one and a half years, she started her teaching career as Lecturer in December 1996. In 2002, she joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (erstwhile BESU), Shibpur. She is now Professor and Head of the same department. Her area of interest includes Control of Real-Time Nonlinear Systems, Image and Signal Processing in Instrumentation and Control, Application of Various Orthogonal Functions in Control System, Smart Instrumentation Design for the Process Industry, and Present Status and Challenges of Solar Cell Applications. She has published over 75 articles in National and International journals and conferences. She has supervised five doctoral theses; one scholar has submitted his thesis, and four more are working under her supervision. She also supervised more than 20 post-graduate theses. She has co-authored a book entitled “Triangular Orthogonal Functions for the Analysis of Continuous-Time Systems,” published by Elsevier (India) and Anthem Press (UK and USA). She was the principal investigator in several sponsored projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Two Indian patents have been granted to her credit. She was the former Head of the Centre of Excellence for Green Energy and Sensor Systems, Dr. M.N. Dastur School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of VLSI Technology, and the School of Mechatronics and Robotics at the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur. She Chaired the IEEE Joint CSS-IMS Kolkata Chapter for two years and is currently the Execom Member of the same chapter. She is a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers(IEI), India, and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers(IEEE), USA.
