Anindita Sengupta

About


Dr. Sengupta did her B. Tech. in the year 1993, M.Tech.in 1995, and Ph.D. Tech. in 2006 from the Department of Applied Physics, University of Calcutta. After gaining industrial experience of about one and a half years, she started her teaching career as Lecturer in 1996. In 2002, she joined the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, (the then BESU, Shibpur). She is now a Professor in the same department. Her area of interest includes automatic control in general, application of ‘orthogonal functions’ in system and control, industrial instrumentation and process control, signal processing and image processing, etc. She has published more than 60 papers in National and international journals and conferences. She has also supervised three doctoral thesis and 5 more scholars are working under her supervision. She has co-authored a book entitled “Triangular orthogonal functions for the analysis of Continuous-Time systems” published by Elsevier (India) and Anthem Press (UK and USA). She was involved as Principal Investigator in several sponsored projects funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. Currently, she is the Head, Dr. M.N. Dastur School of Materials Science and Engineering at IIEST, Shibpur. She is the former head of the Centre of Excellence for Green Energy and Sensor Systems and the School of VLSI Technology at IIEST, Shibpur. She was the Chair of the IEEE Joint CSS-IMS Kolkata Chapter for the last two years and is currently the Execom Member of the same chapter. She is also a Fellow of The Institution of Engineers (India) and Member of IEEE, USA.
