Dr. Paramita Chattopadhyay received the B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Bengal Engineering College and Science University, Shibpur, India in 1993, 1996, and 2002, respectively. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (Formerly BESU, Shibpur), India. She received Young Scientist Award (DST, Govt. of India), and Commonwealth Fellowship (UK) in the year 2002 and 2003 respectively. She was the visiting professor in Hanyang University, South Korea in the year 2008. She has executed number of sponsored research projects funded by DST, AICTE, CSIR, IE(I) and NPP project of CPRI ( Ministry of Power, Govt. of India) and developed laboratory with state of the art facilities in the area of condition monitoring of rotating machines. She has published more than 50 research papers in various international journals & prestigious conferences and filed two Indian patents. She has already guided three PhD and twenty five M. Tech thesis. Four more PhD scholars are working under her supevision. Dr. Chattopadhyay is an IEEE member. She has already taught the courses like Electrical and Electronic Measurement, Signal and systems, Softcomputing, AI and ANN in undergraduate level and Condition Monitoring of Electrical Equipment, Application of soft computing in Electrical Engineering in Postgraduate level. She is a passionate researcher and her research interests include condition monitoring of Electrical Equipment, Machine Learning, Signal processing, design and development of intelligent systems, AI based smart grid management, Energy Informatics, learning in control and Applications of nano technology in power and energy sectors.
