About

I am an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at IIEST Shibpur since August 2025. I received my Direct Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2022, where I developed phase change material (PCM)–based heat sinks for the thermal management of electronics and lithium-ion cells. After my Ph.D., I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at IIT Bombay (2023–2024), focusing on machine learning- and optimization-based smart thermal management systems for electric vehicles. I then moved to the University of Toronto (2024–2025) for my second postdoc, where I applied CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers to infer Li-ion cell properties from IR images and to develop advanced battery thermal management systems for electric vehicles and stationary storage applications. My work spans Li-ion cell characterization, battery pack modeling, and advanced cooling solutions that leverage machine learning techniques.
