This laboratory has both academic and research purposes. It has equipment like LED, Laser and Photodiode characterization units, fiber optics based experimental kit, Erbium doped fiber amplifier modular training kit, Spectral characterization unit of photodiodes, analog optical communication link for training. The laboratory is also dedicated for research in nonlinear optics, optical communication and optical sensing.

Optical spectrum analyzer, OTDR setup, optical fiber fusion splicing machine, Sophisticated laser driver with multiple compatible laser diodes, Optical power meters with wide variation of sensing heads.
