Topic: Development of Modal Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Maxwell Equations and its application on RCS

 

The code development of the Discontinuous Galerkin Method for solving time-dependent Maxwell equation and to study its performance by application over RCS reduction methodologies. The DGM is Modal based instead of the frequently used Nodal-based DGM. A thorough understanding of DGM and its formulation is presented. The code is validated with standard test cases and verified results. Initially, 1D code is developed, and results are obtained for different boundary conditions, followed by 2D code simulation. Slope limiters are also implemented to improve the stability of the system. Finally, RCS computation is carried out for 2D cases for different illuminated geometries. Simulation is carried out for different waves and different material properties. Extension to 3D is considered for future work as well.
