Research Area

Topic: Kinematic Analysis of Arcuate shear zones and its implications on Singhbhum Shear Zone

I am a Senior Research Fellow from IIEST,Shibpur, specializing in Structural Geology. My current area of research focuses on the Kinematics of Shear Zones and the tectonic processes associated with their formation. I employ a combination of Rock Analogue experiments and Field Studies to observe and analyze geological structures in real-world settings, providing valuable validation for theoretical models and hypotheses. Additionally, I have a keen interest in utilizing Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) tools, such as ArcGIS, QGIS and PCI Geomatica, to analyze geospatial data and derive insights. I also utilize Rockworks for precise data post-processing and advanced analysis. Furthermore, I am developing expertise in COMSOL Multiphysics, which is a numerical modeling software that aids in simulating and understanding complex geological processes. My ultimate goal is to contribute to meaningful discoveries in the field of geosciences and benefit both the scientific community and society as a whole.
